Dalton, his eyes scribbled out in black marker, reaches out of a laptop's video call toward a person hunched at a desk in a dark studio apartment.

One room. One list. Every item is progress.

The opening

WIDE SHOTCHAPTER 1: THE LIST

Birdsong. It's coming from the little white speaker by your bed. It always is.

The light through the blinds says morning. The clock on the wall says 3:12.

You've been awake for a while. You're not sure how long.

The premise

You haven't left this room in a while. The blinds stay shut, the clock keeps saying 3:12, and the packages keep arriving with no one to deliver them.

So you make a list. The feeds say it'll help. Your boss says it's what progress looks like. Eat better. Fix up your space. Be a better employee. Get some fresh air.

Three of them are easy. Something in the room is keeping score.

01Why you'll want to play

The command menu open over the wide shot of the apartment, listing places to move: the desk, the bed, the kitchenette, the door, the bathroom.

ExamineMovePick UpUse

A classic command-menu adventure

Inspired by classic narrative-driven adventure games like Snatcher, Doki Doki Literature Club, and Myst. No pixel hunting and no twitch reflexes: pick a verb, pick a thing, and read what the room has to tell you. Every object holds a piece of who you used to be.

Then, slowly, the menu starts to change.

A SyncUp video call with Dalton, his face torn by horizontal glitch bars.

Horror that waits for you

Something goes very wrong. Then the room snaps back to normal, and you're left wondering whether it happened at all.

Except something always stays behind. A crack in a mug. A word scratched where it shouldn't be. Look closely at everything. The game is playing fair.

A Trybe post from @ProteinPrime: a bodybuilder chicken in sunglasses hoists a carton of eggs on a glittering stage, flanked by two fitness models. Caption: Feeling low? It's not your life. It's your protein.

Progress, at what cost?

“Feeling low? It's not your life. It's your protein.” The influencers on Trybe are half right, which is what makes them so persuasive. The voice on every video call is warm, upbeat and very sure of itself. You'll find yourself nodding along.

A story about the pressure to optimize everything (your diet, your room, your output, yourself) and what slips away while you're busy improving.

The game on a phone: the wide shot of the apartment at top, narration below, and a four-button command menu at the bottom.

Charming, relentless, always on message. His compliments land like instructions and something about his smile doesn't sit right.

Your oldest friend at work, and the one person who still checks on you.
